exec produced by my friend and powerhouse producer Alex Appel! Excellent film! Go see it if you can.
Ani shares intimate perspective into her process and personal life, and boy, so many of her insights hit home. Giving to community while also fertilizing space for creative expression. She’s an icon.

Play date with my husband. BIG STUFF by Naomi Snieckus, Matt Baram, and Kat Sandler. A beautiful examination of the stuff we keep, how we embue things with meaning, and how that meaning links us to the people in our lives, it was moving to tears and funny to tears. Naomi and Matt are brilliant in their tenderness and truthfulness.
The third shot is a closeup of the set, moving boxes assembled to reveal key objects.
The last photo is of the object I referenced in the prompt before the show. It’s a snuff bottle from China that was part of my father’s extensive collection of snuff boxes from his travels around the world. He took our daughters to China, so the memory trigger is deeply layered for me.
Oh my, I cried tonight.
But I also laughed.
Thank you, Naomi and Matt, for gifting us an evening we’ll carry with us for a long time.
